TOURNAMENT VIDEOS 1990-1994

The early 1990s were my primary golf years.

Lots of good finishes and some tournament victories.

After a disappointing start to the 1990s in Europe, I found my way to the Japan PGA Tour and was quite successful there with many top 10s and a near miss.

I also started to receive invitations to the PGA Tour in America from my 1993 Masters victory. There were a lot of frequent flyer miles being built up and no real cohesion to my tournament schedule, but it allowed me the opportunity to get a taste of all the different countries and playing conditions, and served me well in my growth as a professional.

A professional golfer's life can be extremely rewarding.

One of the difficult parts of being from Australia is the amount of travel one must do to chase the dream.

The Australian circuit only consisted of a dozen tournaments running from late year into the new year. So to keep getting better, you had to travel overseas for six to nine months at a time. This is no easy feat, sitting on airplanes and living in hotel rooms at an extreme cost.

Ultimately, I decided to move to the USA in early 1995. I could set up a home there and still continue to be a worldwide player. But having a home base in America was an important stepping stone to ultimately being able to win my PGA Tour card and compete regularly on the biggest golf circuit in the world.
