TOURNAMENT VIDEOS THE 2000's

In the early 2000s, I bounced a little between the PGA Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour with my schedule.

At the end of 2001, I missed my PGA card by $94, finishing 126th on the money list. This really disrupted my ability to set a schedule, as I wasn't certain as to what tournaments I may or may not get into.

I played reasonably well on the Korn Ferry Tour. I finished 12th on the money list to regain my tour card for 2005. And I also finished 30th to 36th on the Korn Ferry money list in 2006 and 2007. Yet this was not good enough to regain my PGA playing rights, and the prize money for that tour did not allow me to make a decent living from travel and paying bills. So in 2008 I quit chasing tournaments and started to settle into my new life as a golf instructor.

2001 Kemper Open- course record and final group

2004 Australian Masters- Three gold jackets?

2001 John Deere Classic Rounds 2 & 3

2006 Cleveland KFT- Another close finish

2004 New Zealand PGA - another runner up finish

2013 Victorian Open- Five years after retiring

One thing to remember about the game of golf is this...

We cannot be perfect. Nobody ever has and nobody ever will.

There are far too many outside agencies that affect the way we play, so bad weather, bad bounces, gusts of wind all contribute to making this game as difficult as possible.

However, therein lies the beauty of the game.

It will always challenge us.

All we can do as golfers is to practice and work hard, build sound fundamentals that will not break down even in the largest of circumstances.

Choose each shot wisely. Prepare for the shot. Hit the shot. Then accept the outcome and move onto the next shot.

This is easier said than done. Yet I see so many weekend golfers who act like every shot should be struck well and they waste more shots by getting so upset when they don't hit a shot how they expect to hit it.

Golf is not agame of perfect. Try not to treat it that way.
